Welcome to C.S.I. Wesley Tamil Church. Our church stands on St. Thomas Mount a sacred place where Saint Thomas, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, was martyred. Founded by the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society, our Tamil congregation's roots began over 200 years ago in a small school chapel. In 1829, the Wesleyan Chapel was built to serve both English and Tamil worshippers. The Wesley Tamil Church was formally established in 1860 with the appointment of its first native resident minister.
